Delete all Simplenotes

This is an Applescript application which, as the name suggests, deletes all notes in a Simplenote account. It is separate from SNYS, and works entirely independently.

As with SNYS it uses the Simplenote PHP API written by Abraham Vegh.

  1. Run the application.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. Make sure you have quit any programs which sync with Simplenote, so as not to confuse them. This could mean SNYS, or another app, such as Notational Velocity.
  4. Click “Delete”.
  5. Wait. It can take a while to delete all your notes.
  6. Once your notes are deleted, you will get a confirmation that this has happened.

Thanks for this, I got an error about not finding a folder, but worked out that I could run the script directly in terminal usingĀ ./Delete all and passing my email and password as argument. It did take a few minutes and said it deleted 208 records. When I logged back in to SimpleNote, I could still see notes, but I suspect this is a SimpleNote problem as even their own support staff don’t seem to be able to reset my account for me! John
