dungeon23 week 26 - sewers part 3, a parasitic bunker

This week took more of a Vaults of Vaarn turn. The sewer workers in this area have turned green and militaristic (and have bits of them dropping off) due to exposure to a damaged thinking machine in an underground military complex - ordinarily not part of the sewers, but subsidence (or something) has breached the wall between them, and unfortunate workers investigating have been infected with a bad case of military-industrial complex.
The bunker also contains a doomsday weapon capable of killing everyone in whatever unfortunate city is above it. (I'm thinking "paranoid last bolthole in case of invasion" here - maybe not the same civilisation that built the sewers at all, or maybe a later evolution.) Some might say that it was poor planning for an ancient civilisation to have built a military bunker containing doomsday devices right next to a sewer, and to those people I would say "yes it was".
