the rest of my dungeon23
See the archive of all Dungeon23 pages here
It's 2025 now, not 2023, and I'm considering whether to do #dungeon26 now. I did complete #hex24 though it was a bit of a struggle. I failed to complete what I'd planned for this year, vaguely called #region26, ostensibly because I couldn't decide on a medium to do it on (mini index cards? my colour reMarkable? a big student notebook?) but if I'd been sufficiently motivated I'd have done it regardless.
Anyway I'm going to just dump all the remaining page scans in this post. If I remember anything about any of them I will add it as a note under the image.
Week 37 - last level of the time dungeon
This was the last level of the time dungeon. I'd got sick of it by then.
Weeks 38 & 39 - small random dungeons
After realising that I didn't want to do big dungeons I rolled on tables from Knave 2e to make smaller ones.
A mini dungeon with ghosts from a warrior cult representing different character flaws. Not much treasure or danger (though there is a cannibal chef) but quite atmospheric. I just got
An underground shrine/courthouse devoted to an avian god of justice, which turned into a venue for gladiatorial spectators, and which was in the end devastated by an avatar of said bird god, offended by this behaviour. Could use this at some point.
Weeks 40 to 43 - Stars Without Number sector
Completely not a dungeon. I decided to make a sector for SWN. Doing this iteratively by hand is an entertaining creative process - making the systems one by one you get to create them in the context of all the ones that have gone before. I had three main factions (described in week 41). The downside of this if any is that there's a lot of wasted grid space here, but that's not a big deal.
ETA: seems I wrote about preparing for it here
Week 44 - not a roguelike dungeon
I apparently rolled up a roguelike dungeon for this but then didn't use it and did something for the PF2 game I was running at the time instead. Don't remember this at all.
Week 45 - actually just a list of seven things
Not in any sense a dungeon, but I did absolutely use Monday's bee church and Friday's deadly rosebush in actual play, which makes this the only week that has been in a real game.
Week 46 - actually a roguelike dungeon
Some sort of winery it looks like.
Week 47 - a Veins of the Earth cavern system
Decided to roll up a cave system from Veins of the Earth. Why not? That's why the map is confusing. I won't explain here how it works, and you can't get the book right now, but VotE: ReDux is coming out soon or at least at some point.
Weeks 48 to 52 -
And for the rest of the year I just rolled up roguelike dungeons
The above three are outdoor swamp areas, all connected to each other. The first one has the stocking tables I used.
These last two are connected levels of an ancient underground waterworks.
And that's it. That's all of my dungeon23 out on the internet now. I can cross that off finally.
If you've not seen the full archive of all weeks it's here.
